VERY DIFFICULT TO HEAR THE TRANSMISSIONS.  I KNOW THAT PEOPLE WERE RESPONDING FROM ALL OVER, BOTH APPARATUS AND CHIEFS.  IF ANYONE HAS ADDITIONALL INFORMATION IT WOULD BE A GOOD INCIDENT TO TRY AND RECREATE.

Across the road from the "Bermuda Inn" restaurant and just down the block from "Big Nosed Kate's" bar. Not that I have ever entered these places, mind you. Also just a stone's throw from E168/EMS 23's quarters. 168 was relocated to E151 at the time of the box.

E243 relocated to 168.....168 had been relocated to 151 and when they responded 156 then went to 151. The 40 Bn. relocated to the 23 Bn. I believe L153 went to L84.

Yes the "kids" still have their fun over there. Yesterday's fire was due to the barge being dismantled by workers using acetylene torches as per radio transmissions by Div. 8. Still, it is a long and messy job when these hulks go up. As a side note, the remains of a former FDNY fire boat is still in the water there. That vessel was employed during the "General Slocum" fire back in, I think, 1903. I forget the name of the boat.

The William F Havemeyerand the Zophyr Mills were around at the time of the Slocum disaster.

KFD274, I stand corrected on the old fireboat in the Arthur Kill. It is the Abraham Hewitt. I aplogize for the misinformation.
