1/6/11 Manhattan 10-75 Box 871

I believe the Special Units generally mean the Rescue and the Squad - that is why often times the designated 10-75 Chief and FAST Truck will request if the I/C wants them to continue in if they are not on scene already.

When i was the Incident Commander & did not want any further Units who were still responding....i always had the BN FF clearly state no additional units that are not 10-84.....then further state ....the units who were not needed such as "no 10-75 Chief ..no 4th ENG ..no FAST Unit etc"  depending on who may be coming in.....i feel in days pasts "no special units" sufficed .....however today w/ the amount of units coming in i think the IC should be more specific......sometime even after giving the units by designation......several minutes (or longer) a siren would be heard & some else would pull in......generally the DIV would not be included in those told to return....it is his discretion in what he wants to do based on reports.....generally a BC would not order a DC returned.
