670 Grand Concourse, fire in a vacant 3 story 200X100 irregular masonry construction building. Fire was caused by skells burning insulation off copper wire in the basement.

  John, I guess things really haven't changed much since you retired. I'm guessing the reason that you haven't heard the term "skells" is because you retired FROM the South Bronx, NOT To the South Bronx.

A firehouse in the Bronx had the frame of a tv, which went around the screen, fasten over one of the windows on the apparatus door, under it was scribbled "Skell-O-Vision". Priceless!
