L-113 FAST

Calls for fire on the 4th floor

Fire building was a 5 and 7 story 225'x150' non-fireproof OMD.

Any updates on the Mayday given?

The injuries to members are minor, as precautionary all are going to Cornell Hospital.

Fast unit going to work should be used when the company is needed for fire duties
Fast unit being activated is when the unit is used for removing members

Not saying your wrong signal. Aide could have just said it wrong. Was just giving my 2 cents about how I think the terminology is used. I still don't know why the Fast Unit is ever used for fire duty. Because during that tilme there is no Fast Unit present. Thanks for all the great rundowns you do.

L137 acting L169 would leave a large hole on the Rockaways unless another truck covers 137.

G-Man 137 was on a run and was told once they are done to relocate.  Didnt hear anyone go to 137

You're absolutely right, the building used to be the Prospect Heights Hospital. Don't know when it closed as a hospital, but I remember both my mom and grandmother doing private duty nursing there in the 50's and 60's.
Right up the block from quarters of 280/132 and across the street from a 4th that totaled a corner MD

First in reference to the mayday. DC11 told us (Brooklyn Dispatch) that mayday was transmitted so I asked if he needed a second FAST. Thats when he said yes. So he didnt really clarify if they were for work or the mayday but didnt really matter to use since we knew there was a mayday and we had to get him another FAST.

In regards to the relocation's: relocations are a big chess game and it was tricky that day. We had companies out mechanical, taking time from ems runs, training, medicals, etc. We needed trucks up north so sent 148 to 119 and then 169 to 148 in order to get a company up north quick.
In regards to 137 acting 169: We had 169, 159 and 153 unavailable. 137 at that time was on a box in brooklyn at Flyodd Bennett Field so we kept them and used them as a relocater. Queens did send a truck to cover 137 then.

And yes 22 mins later 132 would have been OOS for Education Day.

Thank you Brian for the dispatcher inside. I enjoyed reading it.  Keep up the good work "spinning the tunes of brooklyn" and with the photos!!

Brad
