I know this effect has gone in Citywide now but Do Squad and Rescue have to respond 10-20 when they are assigned to say a 10-75 , like A 2nd or 3rd Due Engine or Truck ?

No, 10-20, is used for most "non emergency"calls. Or. Class 3 alarms, odors of gas, water leaks. First due units still respond in emergency mode the rest respond 10-20. Any officer can cancel it if they think something more is going on.

Any units responding to smell of smoke, report of fire or confirmed fire are always responding in emergency mode.

As far as the Rescue and Squad Companys go, first if they are assigned to a job 10-75 I will only have to assume that they would respond in the Emerg. mode. Once they are responding and the boss at the scene tells the disp to have them contuine in on a 10-20 then the lights and siren are shut down. Most of the time if the boss at the job reports prob will hold the Rescue and Squad usually goes 10-8. I would beleive otherwise they would be subject to the same as any other company in regards to the response mode.
