coconut creek fire department is two years old this month. They had originally contracted with the City of Margate for fire protection services. Two years ago they formed their own department and discontinued contracting with Margate in the interest of cost savings. The forest green engine is Coral Springs Parkland engine 42 on mutual aid. The Fire Rescue Medic unit is Coral Springs / parkland rescue 97. The city of Parkland contracts with The City of Coral Springs for fire rescue services. Coral Springs has 5 stations in their city and staffs Three stations in Parkland. All career paid with 3 on an engine and three on a rescue. Coconut Creek also staffs 3 on an engine and three on a rescue. Coconut creek fire is dispatched by Coral Springs Fire Rescue after breaking away from the county dispatch system in the interest of better service.
