This is from the "Other Site" I think it's the same job. Whatever, it was a nice job by the members involved.
10/24 @ 4:30 am. 79/62/48 and 32/56 on the initial ticket. 37 was on their way to a relocation in riverdale. Call was for an odor of something burning on Mosholu Parkway on the 6th floor. 79's officer reported heat at the apartment door and was getting reports from neighbors that an elderly man lived in the apartment. 32 forced entry, and was forced to remove debris from behind the door in order to get in. Lt. was the first one to squeeze through the door and quickly located the man unconscious and barely breathing, near the kitchen (the fire location). still being unable to open the door due to debris the door was removed despite not having a charged handline (the only way the 10-45 could be removed). Fire was quickly knocked down and overhaul was extensive. There wasn't a ton of fire but with conditions in the apartment being what they were, it could have been a lot worse and the 10-45 was conscious by the time EMS arrived.
