11/1/24 Manhattan 6th Alarm / 10-66 Box 1622

Let's not "Monday Morning Quarterback" until we know more FACTS. These are good companies who still do some real fire duty often. Let us pray for our injured brother and learn from what has happened when we know all the facts. That said I firmly believe a FAST team should include a "FAST Chief". and "R.I.C.E. = Rapid Intervention Company Engine (To stretch any handline/s need to make the rescue and removal safer} and dedicate A.L.S./Rescue Medic Unit = For use only by seriously injured members. Also, large fires require additional F.A.S.T. Teams and an additional Rescue Company before the Mayday! Captain Bob Rainey FDNY Engine 26
Boston assigns a RIT chief, I believe NOVA departments do as a RIT task force - its a great idea to have a Fast or RIT sector/group/division (sorry too much NIMS for a Sunday) With the resource's required - Decentralized command is huge as was mentioned in the video!!

Alright, lets just chill out. "1261Truckie" is right, your way out of line. Everyone has there opinions, I highly suggest you go looking through the history section of this site. They we're indeed LOOSING the block. In my opinion, War Year's vet's did it better back then the way they do it now, but like I said. Its a OPINION.

If I remember correctly, this is the first job above the 5th since that 8th Alarm in Jackson Heights back in 2021?

They ended going above the 5th after that 8th alarm, not sure completely why. Not sure if they brought it back with this new administration but myy guess was due to the 10-66

They basically wanted to say "We put out this fire with just a 5th alarm." When in all reality it should have been more then a 5th. But I doubt the new Commissioner is bringing the 6th Alarm+ back, they could if they want to since the PSAC computers still go to the 10th Alarm.

So unprovoked and unwarranted criticism of the members and tactics at a job with a 10-66, combined with chest beating and revisionist history is a-ok, but any responses to said comment are deemed unprofessional and removed? Just wanted to be sure I’m clear on what is and isn’t acceptable for future reference.
