12/10/2011 All Hands Manhattan Box 0824

I was in the City this afternoon and saw L2 on a run at the time of the fire
 
Could be:

Engine 21, Engine 8, Engine 65
Ladder 2, Tower Ladder 7
Battalion 8

10-75-0824 Assignment:

Engine 16
Ladder 4(F.A.S.T.)
Squad 18
Rescue 1
Battalion 9

Ladder 16 Fast


Okay so here we go  I was in the area of West 42nd & Vanderbuilt Ave Towards 6th Ave  when TL7 passed me in the opposite direction in emergency mode. I had to turn onto Vanderbuilt to meet my father on West 43rd because I had to pick him off because he took the train down to meet me. 15 minutes passed and still no dad so i circled the block and went down 43rd to 6th and then down 46th st as i was heading down 46th i noticed in the distance L2 was ladder the building  im like S**T its a job  and here i was waiting for my dad who went the wrong way. Finally 45mins later I got to the fire. What i saw was E65 on 2nd Ave packing up. L2 was a couple door up before the fire building. Then E21 was ahead of them packing up. TL7 was in front of the fire building with E8. L16 was pulling away as i was getting closer. E16 was on 1st ave and leaving. B8 was infront of the fire building. B9 was down the ST with Rac1 and D3.  Howd i do Mike  ;)
 
I didn't find out where this was until after I was too far away. Caught E65 responding and Rescue 1 on 42nd st. By the time I got onto FDNY Manhattan dispatch to find out where it was I was on 6th ave in gridlock. City was crazy busy today. NYPD was closing down streets to traffic left and right later in the afternoon.
