0725 - Manhattan - We have a confirmed suspicious package in the subway. Now getting calls for an explosion.

0734 - Bn. 9 - This is a possible terrorism incident. There are no patients at this time. Have all units stage at 8th and 43 Street.

0741 - Bn. 8 - Per Strategic Response Group, there was no explosion, there are no injuries.

0744 - Car 3 - Advise incident command, all communications should be by phone, not over department radio.

0831 - Manhattan - All Hands (E-54, L-24, & RAC-1 were assigned on the All Hands, but were immediately put back in service)

What is the Strategic Response Group, and from where do they get there info from?
 
So from these reports it sounds like "downplaying" instead of "alerting" & calling it what it is ?....sounds like SRG was misinformed & why did Car 3 want to keep it a secret from those FDNY Members responding as well as traveling back & forth to work ? .....QUOTE.

the mayor is calling this incident an "attempted "terror attack.
meanwhile after the mayor denied surveillance of area mosques
we have experienced 3 successful terror attacks.

The Strategic Response Group is part of the NYPD. They are the old task force (ie. Queens north task force) they were repurposed.  They are now a quick response group through out the city for major incidents.  They look like ESU  but are not trained to all of their rescue capabilities.  Kinda like JV to the ESU varsity. They can also stand by at major locations as a show of force around the city.  like the Counter Terrorism unit
They also have been working closely with the FDNY Rescue Task Force.  They team up with us and lead us in and protect us while we are triaging and removing victims of active shooter/bomb incidents.

Also the Division 14 RTF was activated and stood by at E8 and L2 quarters until they were relieved by the boro task force
