Yes that goes back to several decades now. Satellite assigned on all hands to most boxes in Riverdale section due to water supply concerns up there
Do they respond on the 10-75 or on the transmission of the All Hands? Thanks.

Looking at this since the Third Alarm, is it easier to go to the next higher alarm for relief instead of just using special calls?

There's no 1 real answer here since there's so many variables. Literally depends on the weather, is it hot or cold, snow, rain....... what kind of fire conditions are left, is it surround and drown or watch for flare ups, is there a lot of overhaul. Is there a collapse Hazzard or collapse already occurred, or can you get up close and personal with what's smoking.

^^^^.** (AN OLD NY TIMES ARTICLE ) ......"Ehring's Tavern, 228 West 231st Street, the Bronx, KI 6‐9576.

For more than 50 years, this neighborhood German restaurant has been cramped into narrow quarters further crowded with a collection of mementos, antique steins and portraits of patriotic totems such as 3. Edgar Hoover.

The German food has not at all suffered from lack of Lebensraum, however, and the dining room is about to expand from 8 to 30 tables in a matter of days, when newly acquired—and remodeled —space next door is ready.

In the best of all possible worlds, every neighborhood would have several restaurants like this, each sunk in its own tradition, a little island of simple ethnicity carefully preserving its methods and standards.

The choice at Ehring's, which is just west of Broadway, runs from a huge juicy calf's knuckle to sauerbraten to Konigsberger klopps. The sauerbraten tastes as if it actually had been marinated for a week in vinegar and spice brine, as the menu claims. It comes with excellent red cabbage and a light, but classically chewy, potato dumpling.

Konigsberger klopps are veal dumplings the size of tennis balls. They are served in a caper‐flavored sauce with fine noodles, potato and vegetable.

During the winter, the restaurant serves hassenpfeffer. The menu includes several other German specialties all year round: kassler rippchen (smoked pork loin), goulash, schnitzel and wurst.

There is a beautiful old bar with European beers on tap. The service is performed efficiently. And, since main courses run from $3.50 to $6.95 (for a 16‐ounce prime sirloin steak), it is well worth the drive to this tranquil part of the Bronx.

Ehring's is open for lunch and dinner every day and accepts major credit cards.
