Fat thumb got me againWrong box number
Maybe, it’s the way the 40 Bn, changed the way we, 114 & 201, used to respond. this 2674 response between 2nd & 3rd Ave, especially this particular address which is probably a few buildings off of 3rd ave. The “new way” is for units to not go against the streets direction & to go with the direction of traffic. The old way would have 201 & 114 go to 56th & 3rd & go down towards 2nd ave. With this address we’d go right to the corner & go down a couple of buildings to the address instead of going all the way down to 2nd ave & coming up with 241 &109 responding along 2nd ave & up 56th st.201 and 114 on another box? Shld be 1st due
When life is at risk, for a 1st due engine & truck, especially from the same quarters, to go about 2 blocks out of the way, is not good. At times, the 2nd due truck is behind 3 rigs, unless the 2nd engine lets the 2nd due truck in ahead of them & then grabs a hydrant. Mostly depends on building location on the block & hydrant locations.Guess we can add 201/114 to the list. Back in the day with the (strict) 7th battalion they used to say the only companies that couldn’t go against traffic were 3 Engine, 12 Truck and Marine 1…lol.
