12/17/2014 Bronx 5th Alarm Box 3119

I was only on scence about 20 minutes due to me having to be at work but I hardly saw any ff's standing around doing nothing so yeah thats a really oddball question. I have noticed during the march 2014 job on burnside and this one Tl 33 has been getting 2nd sections on relocators any reasoning behind that??

2nd section was because their 1st relocator got a job then their 2nd relocator was assigned to the 5th alarmer.

Quite impressive to be able to say with conviction that companies above the second alarm didn't really do anything, especially since your town is across the state....Listen to the audio of the fire and you'll see WHAT they did

Man, I hope you were just kidding around. 

The last fire of any significance that I remember in Dunkirk NY was the large apartment building fire a few years ago.  Meanwhile, the FDNY has had at least 12 5-alarm fires or 5-alarm incidences just in 2014! 

I'm pretty sure that the FDNY chiefs know what they are doing and don't call in multiple alarms unless they are going to use all the available resources including manpower.  If you see a team standing outside the fire, it's probably a FAST team and that is their job - and it would be great to know how many brothers and sisters have been saved by FAST teams since the concept was implemented.  I don't know how Dunkirk does their resource management, but I'm pretty sure that the best and busiest fire department in the world knows how to use the brothers and sisters so that they are all doing work in a multiple alarm fire.

Is it that surprising that someone who is retired from a volley dept in dumbkirk would question what goes on at a multiple in the Bronx? There may be guys in the street some who are waiting to relieve companies and others who are all ready relieved  Go back to dumbkirk !
