An FDNY lieutenant found dead at Staten Island firehouse
Lt. Joseph Maiello, 53, was discovered deceased at Engine 163/Ladder 83 at 875 Jewett Ave. in Castleton Corners, the FDNY said.

Was he on duty? Why is this a 65-2 and not a 5-5-5-5

He was on-duty. Thoughts go out to L148 (previously assigned)/E282 as well.
65-2 is a notification. Because he was found and there was no apparent cause, after the autopsy they will probably make it 5-5-5-5.
