This is One of Those Head-Scratchers ... We Know of course that J.O. always provides us w/ accurate FDNY
Assignments, But, having 'Run'  da' Neighborhood for Years; Let Me tell ya' :

310/174 have a Long Ride from E.52 & Snyder to Union & Schenectady... I'm willing to bet that 280/132 from St.John's & Washington would
beat them 7 out of 10 Times...
Sqd.1 from Union & 6th will beat 252 from Central Av 10 of 10 Times  ???  :-\

01:07hrs. - Battalion 38 transmitting the 10-75 for fire on the 2nd floor. 10-75 Assignment: E249, TL111(FAST), B44, D15, SQ252, R2.

01:09hrs. - BD advising Battalion 38 receiving calls from 1655 Union St., Apt. "Adam" 4.

01:12hrs. - Battalion 38 reporting using A/H. 2 line stretched w/1 in operation. Fire on the 2nd floor of a 4-story 100'x100' Class 3 OMD. Water on the fire. Exposure # 1 is Union St.; # 2 is a similar-type; # 3 is unknown; # 4 is a 2-story P/D. Primary searches underway. Fire is D/W/H. Duration 9 minutes.

01:15hrs. - Battalion 38 reporting fire is k/d. Primary searches in the fire apt. and floor above negative. Corrected address is 1655 Union St.

01:17hrs. - BD advising Division 15 medical branch resources responding.

01:20hrs. - Division 15 reporting main body of fire is k/d in one room in Apt. B6. Fire is now P/W/H. Secondary searches underway.

01:24hrs. - Division 15 reporting secondary searches complete and negative. Fire is u/c. Duration 21 minutes.

01:33hrs. - Division 15 transmitting the 10-41: Code 1. Division 15 10-8.
