Maps can be deceiving. 275/133 make a left outta quarters onto Merrick then a quick right on 93rd , left on 170...boom. First in. 298/127 have to take Hillside past 170...to either 173 or 175 to get across Jamaica. When I was driving 133 and one of those boxes came in, I knew we were getting in first. Funny story. One morning around 630 box comes in....box after initial...box now being transmitted for almost that same location. Knew 127 had a head start so it was gonna be close. Sure enough we are nose to nose (almost) at 93rd and 170. Except they have a fuel truck making a delivery and blocking them from making the turn...lol. Make the left onto 170...10-75. Got my stick up to the attic window, just about to ascend the ladder and here comes 127. Chauffeur is pissed...screaming at me to move my rig! I look at him, say “yeah right” and dive in the attic window. Basement fire, 275 knocks it down. Searches negative. We’re in the street later...I see 127’s chauffeur and ask him if he was serious. He smiles and says no....i’da done the same thing. Excellent companies all. Stay safe.
