the pastor of this church was interviewed this morning on ch 7 news.
she stated her parishioners were asking her where was God as her church burned..
she stated the water being placed on flames were Gods tears.
this reminded me of a sermon given by Father Gannon from our lady queen of peace staten island
the sunday after 9/11/01 in which he stated our parishioners were asking...where was God on 9/11
and his answer from the pulpit was...
my observation .."I saw God in all the faces of the firemen and cops that day "
i am not disagreeing with this pastors response
it just prompted me to share Fr Gannons observation and response and recognize the dedication of the members operating at this fire.

Just looking around that intersection of 2nd Ave and 7th Street, there was that 3rd alarm last February, an all-hands at 110 2nd Ave (exposure 4 side of the church) June 20, 2018, diagonally across 2nd Ave, the famous 2015 East Villiage Gas Explosion, and last night this 6th alarm.

That's a name from the past I knew Fr Gannon from St. Charles church where I attended. That was many years ago.
