Reported elsewhere: at 11:40, fire at 238 Thames Street, heavily involved 2 1/2 story frame structure.
@ 11:41: Working fire assignment.

@ 11;42: second alarm transmitted for heavy fire.

@11:49: command pulling everyone out; going defensive.

@12:06: two firefighters being transported with injuries.

Another fire for the south end of New London. This district (Engine 3) is mainly residential. Most of the homes are pre-1930’s, but obviously there are some raised ranches and newer homes sprinkled in on this dead end street.

Initial assignment for reported fires in NL is all on-duty companies: E3, E1, E2, T2, both ambulances and the Battalion Chief. The transmission of a 2nd alarm brings in mutual aid coverage and two off duty platoons. Today, many of the off duty platoon members covered spare apparatus and covered the city until on-duty units went available from the fire.

One injured member sustained a burn to the wrist and was released. The other was injured when a ceiling collapsed on him. His injuries are not believed to be serious.
