Chinatown area

"Dragon Fighters" Engine 9 / Tiller Ladder 6 First Due

Streetview of Pell Street - how narrow are those streets?? Defintely the perfect example of why a tiller calls this neighborhood home:

Pell Street is barely wide enough for a parking lane and a through lane, curb-to-curb I'd guess no more than 15 feet, at most.  Apparatus going along Pell might need to have two wheels on the sidewalk if there are parked cars, and there are probably vaults under that sidewalk..  Lucky it's not Doyers Street ("Blood Alley") with its dog-leg curve.

A couple of very good restaurants on Pell.

We have some street in south philly that are impossible for apparatus to get down. The engines lead off from the corners and the ladder companies carry ground ladders to the fire building.

The restaurant was probably re-painted, cleaned and ready for business 20 minutes after the last apparatus left the area.  With New Year coming up there's no way they're going to lose that much business.

Does anyone know if Chinatown boxes get larger-than-usual responses because of the crowded conditions, age of buildings, narrow and very congested streets, rear tenements etc, etc?

Thanks.
