Never know.
Transmit 10-75 and all hands for gas lines quite often now per regs.
And lines (usually 1) are stretched and charged as Con Ed works as protection for them.
I assumed fire but the gas company reporting has explosive ranges?
No idea.

Maybe just a plain old job.
Was wondering about the connEd gas reference in initial post.
Maybe a class 3 alarm set up that reports gas detected and alarm company starts calling everyone and they called FD?

The newly installed smart detectors by ConEd have already activated a few times for fires.

The detectors pick up the chemicals in smoke and go off as a "10% of LEL" for natural gas. But the reality is, is that it's actually a job. This has happened at least 5 times that I know of, and this is what happened last night. No gas leak, a fire.

Gotta be ready.......
