287 must have been relocating to either 286 or a Brooklyn unit. That's the only way 287 would be in Ridgewood

Believe the 10-14 is usually the door position

10-14 signal, as stated by the chief, years ago was for assigning an add'l Engine to a Box, dependent upon staffing levels of other Engines assigned to that Box. 10-14 signal no longer exists.

It doesn't happen often, but at times, if a Truck transmits that they are responding with 4 FFS, an add'l Truck is assigned - seems like it happens at the dispatchers' discretion as it isn't an automatic assignment in many cases.
