Are there many 40xx series boxes in Bayside? When I saw this post title I thought it would be a Ridgewood box.

What's up kid... Hope you and family doing well..... I thought the same Ridgewood... Lower Maspeth area..
There's a few of balls or there. In the old neighborhood the 5100 series are Glendale & Middle Village but there are a few in Richmond Hill. There's a 1500 series box 3 blocks from 319 but yet 1500 series are in Bayside. What l am sure of is the 9500 series. 319 is assigned to 94 of those series boxes either first..second..third or fourth due. Theother 6 boxes are also in Forest Hills gardens whether 319 is on the second alarm. It's weird but just go with the flow.. STAY SAFE BUDDY

I've been trying to figure out box 1879 at 87 Avenue and 144 Street for 35 years nevermind the 4000's lol
There's a few head scratchers in almost every series... 5098, 5099 in Glendale. The 51-5200's are scattered. The 4000-4999 series have no set neighborhood except for the 4400's in and around Downtown Flushing. A few 7300, 7600, 7700, 7900 and 9300 scattered in areas you wouldn't expect.

4500 boxes also. Mostly in College Point, but some in north Flushing, Maspeth and a few in Ridgewood as well. Oh yes, one in Douglaston 4557.

319 had ( 10 ) 4500 series boxes. One box was at 85 St & 60 Ave. 4595 l believe. We caught some good jobs there over the years. All mostly 2 story PDs with underhouse garage. Those car fires in driveway always extended to bldg

No rhyme or reason for certain Box numbers....as stated above many #s are scattered....5182 is Myrtle Ave & Woodhaven Blvd & 5151 is 107 Ave & 123 St a 308/126 1st Due Box (notorious for 9-2s back in the '90s.)....Howie Carlson lived by that corner back when we took the test for the FDNY back in '68......QNS 8300 & 8400 Boxes are used as Class 3 Boxes now but back in the '60s Boxes went in somewhat of an East to West rough order 8900s started farther East then 8800s were in South Jamaica as well as 8700 & 8600s then digressed into 8500s in Woodhaven & 8400s in Ozone Park etc...etc.

Doug is 4595 a 1st due box for 319 or for 287?

How about Box 9341 at Rockaway Blvd and 175 Street. Many years ago there was a job at a homeless hotel for that box and then-Queens Chief Dispatcher Joe Higgins(RIP) asked the radio dispatcher if that in fact was a valid box number for that area presuming he knew 9300's were primarily Corona.
