"kfd274", nice job putting those statics together. Yes, I have to agree with you that Queens has been busy lately. As for buffing those streets though, no matter how I try, I just can't seem to figure out those streets. Any help to make it easier.

NOW can't all of you thickheaded sons of b@!^*&s see why I want to cut the size of the freakin' fire department??  ??? ??? ???    Mayor Bloomberg ;) :o :'( :'(

I am not surprised by the numbers in the 50th and 51st Battalions - the number of multiples in the 54th were lower than I would have thought off the top of my head. - this is a very busy Battalion though.

kfd274 if you get some free time maybe you want to add a column for 10-75's to your spreadsheet!!

Yeah, I second that Great Job done Kevin. I was there when Queens had the Fifth and Sixth Alarms in one day. I wasn't aware that one of those jobs actually went to a 6th Alarm. But NEVER, Ever, in my many buffing tours over the last 40 plus years, including the very busy War Years, did I ever catch two jobs like that, espically in the same Boro, on the Same Day.
Queens holds that record. "So let's hear it for those Busy Queens outfit's".
  Thanks Kevin (kfd274).

Latest update as of December 31, 2010

Queens has had 63 multiple alarms in the twelve months of 2010 including a 6th, two 5th's, and three 4ths, twelve 3rds, and 45 2nds.

In all of 2009, Queens had a total of 32 multiple alarms including 3 4ths, 8 3rds, and 21 2nds.  That's 2.6 alarms a month compared to 2010 with 5.25 a month.  That's almost double the amount of multiples  32 vs 63. The 51st had the most - 15, followed by th 50th and 46th with ten each, and the 54th with 8.  The 53rd had no multiple alarms.

Queens was smoking!!!

GREAT JOB, thnak you, maybe some politicians need to see that and use in there defense to help with staffing and cut backs, also have to remember, what a HOT summer that was in 2010, FDNY did a great job as always in ALL elements that mother nature throws at the Brotrher's.

Sir, Queens is by far the easiest boro. Streets= Low number streets start in the west, i.e. 5th Street is down by the East River, say near E258 area. The numbers get higher as you go east to 270 street in E251's area. Avenues= Low numbers are in the north, lets say 3rd avenue in E295's area. Avenues get higher going south to let's say 163 Ave. in E331's area. Of course you have drives, lanes, roads, courts thrown in here and there. Name streets are a bit tougher. One of the easiest name street area's in Flushing in E273's area, i.e.
Ash Ave, Beech Ave, (Can't remember the "C" avenue), Dahlia Ave, etc. They are all flower or shrub names running off of Kissena Blvd. I could bore you some more but that's about the easiest way to explain Queens.

C is for Cherry (also 43rd Avenue east of Murray St) and D is for Delaware - what is 45th Avenue was originally Franconia Avenue and so on all the way to Kissena Park which is bordered by Oak Avenue and Rose Avenue - as a kid I use to know all of them by heart - like the memory master says I don't want to bore you though but the fact that this section is in alphabetical order makes it a lot easier.

If you still find it tough ask for a GPS for your birthday - only kidding!!

That's easy for you to say. As a Bronx boy I like the numbered street, named avenue way of doing things. I just think they went overboard with all the numbers in Queens.

First I have to agree. That Queens has been really busy. Kevin (kfd274), thank you for taking the time to post that. You certainly did a Great Job. I've had people from Queens tell me the streets are so easy to follow. For me, I wish it was that easy.
I put on a real show the night my car got towed from in front of Donovan's on Roosevelt Ave. That was at the October (2010) Member Meeting. We rode all over the Boro of Queens looking for the Auto Tow Pound as the clock was ticking to the 10 PM closing time. If only we were looking for the place in the Bronx.
"I Love ya Queens, but I guess You don't Love me".
Frank (fdce54), I'm in your corner.

At least the food is good at Donovan's!!!

You sure are right about that. And they filled up that entire Huge Plate with the best roast beef dinner I can ever remember. Your brother Kevin was a big help to me that night too. I appreciate what he did.

Sorry for getting off track here. Lets get back on how busy Queens has been. My Queens buffing area over the last few years has been in the steets of 275/133 and 303/126 response area. A lot of closely packed frames. And some of those frames have more people in one apartment than I have in my entire block.
