A relative of mine was a ConEd electrical lineman at the 2001 job.  A chief wanted to send him up an FDNY apparatus to address something, but as he told me it was squashed by a higher chief.

E82 OOS for medicals and E92 relocated to E52.  It seems that taking two engines OOS in the same general, densely populated area, is not a great idea.  Why not relocate a slower company to 52? Is there a method to closing or relocating companies for a tour? Can a Chief change the order if he thinks this detrimental to an areas coverage? Sorry for so many questions, this just peaked my curiosity.

52s is a must fill due to their location.  Who knows what the reasoning behind the decision was.  It just doesn't make sense.  Sometimes common sense isn't soo common

Those "must fill" companies are a PIA for the rest of the companies though.  Engine 54 is another example......don't get me started with them.

"THEMAJESTIRIUM1", thanks for posting that video. You did a GREAT JOB.

For many years, that was my favorite area to hang out and buff. I saw those companies catch hundreds of jobs.

To those guys that mentioned about me and some Big Macs, "they were right". Not far from this job is a McDonalds on Webster Ave, just north of Clairmont Ave. I remember when it was built and it was the perfect place to buff many of the busiest companies in the city.

I don't get down there as often now as I used to. So I appreciate you posting that video of the job in the old neighborhood hang out.

And speaking of OLD. Those two guys that told you about my Big Mac experiences, one of them grew up on the next street over from this job. Long before I even knew where the Bronx was.

Does anyone know who owns that site with the pictures on it. I would like to talk with him or her I have some questions about buying some of the pictures from the fire.
