How long does such a response take?
Does every land apparatus that is assigned get ferried over?

Unsure on just how long it takes but not every unit gets their apparatus ferried over,. There are two Reserve Engines and Two Reserve Ladders on the Island so that personnel can staff them (I believe?) In which case the Marine Units can ferry Firefighters over.

This video better explains it

The Ferry always has a crew. They are supposed to sleep on the island with security. If they can’t get the ferry a FDNY Marine Unit will pick up the members and take them over to pick up Reserve Apparatus if needed. A lot of times Marine Battalion or Marine 6 go straight to the island to see what is needed if E4 TL15 don’t get on the ferry right away.

I believe it can only fit 3 rigs at a time. Usually E4 TL15 first ones over if they have to wait for the ferry then another Truck goes onto the ferry with the battalion. Rest of the crews can take tools by hand. It all depends on what is on fire and what the call is
