On a straight assignment card L38 would have been 2nd due on the 2nd alarm but they don't show up anywhere on these rundowns. Ladder companies moving all over the city's chess board but L38 sat in quarters a little over a mile away from the incident? Just curious.
Great discussions on alarm assignments, ect.
E45 and E90 didn't make it till the 5th, L19 was a special call after the 5th and L55 was shut out entirely

That’s even crazier
Its a common thing for multiple alarms with a watch line every 3 hours.

Especially if they need 75' TLs or 95' TLs there's only so many and don't want to keep sending the same 2-3

Last year L-85 (95') went to Manhattan for relief

In the blackout in July of 1977 a 10th Alarm was transmitted for Knickerbocker & Bleeker. Although route cards only went to a 5th, Guess the computer was able to dig deep and get a 10th alarm out there.
Unless I'm mistaken, the computer only went as high as the 5th . After that, the dispatchers had to manually put in the additional alarms. One of the dispatchers or FDNY members would know this better than me.
