Why were they denied access?

Because Port Authority are a bunch of sc*mbag cry babies.

FDNY units are never allowed onto Port Authority property. Units are usually threatened with arrest.

Clean up after 9/11 the site was sectioned into 3 quadrants, 1 for FDNY,1 for NYPD and 1 for PAPD. You better stay in your section!

What happened to the law about any rescue or fire scene is under fire department control until the situation is resolved?  Are the PA police above the law?  Don't see how they can deny access to a situation where a rescue needs to be performed.  If they do it seems like the injured party would have one heck of a lawsuit against them.

does any one have a run down? all i got was Engine 10 Squad 18 Battalion 1 and Division 1  Im sure Ladder 10 Engine 6 Engine 7 Tower Ladder 1 and also Rescue 1 where there

All of those units responding to a scene that FDNY was denied access to ??? ??? ???  Doesn't make much sense, guys.  There's bad (or at least incomplete) info here.

What i have read here has saddened me.

The injured party should be informed of the conduct of the PAPD, who should fell the full weight of any law suite or criminal charges for obstruction brought against them.

Just my view (which never counts for lot anyways!!  ;D)

This also happened in the Bronx Zoo when the Tram got stuck. NYPD denied access to FDNY for some time. FDNY never got notified until a Chief was watching the News and made it a verbal for the incident.

You guys seem surprised by this. In my experience, talking to FF's, bosses and Chiefs in areas where PAPD patrols, they are VERY territorial. They'll come out to help in a situation like that fuel truck that overturned on the Conduit at the Van Wyck a few years back. But, they do not like it when FDNY comes around to one of their spots. I'm not sure if they were involved with the Air Train accident on the Van Wyck when the motorman was crushed by the conrete blocks in the train.

I can remember notifying them one day we had a reported car fire in the Holland Tunnel, and that FDNY and FDJC were responding. The cop on the other end of the phone blew a gasket. Have you ever seen the size of the rig they have for the GWB?? That right there says they don't want Fort Lee or the FDNY nosing around.

I just can not believe what I've read on this post. The Bronx Zoo Incident, The Holland Tunnell, and now how the World Trade Center Site is "divided up". I hope that worker is okay, but I also hope "his" incident will be followed up, and change come about.

The Best Fire Dept in the World is denied access to make a rescue !!! I sure wish that I was only smart enough to become a lawyer. I think I'd be looking for the guy, and put a few hundred thousand in my pocket.

Just wondering FDNY150, what is the response for a car fire in the Holland Tunnel? Do you notify FDJC and vice versa, and know what they are sending or does it matter what side the incident is on?

Thanks

Andy

Here's a good one, Patterson,NJ has a collapse of a vacant bus Garage that is 100x60 and PAPD ESU is responding to it. Just wonder how this can be.
