4/2/26 Staten Island 2nd Alarm Box 4539

also, I've talked to chiefs who work on the island. with the satellite incoming that's another engine they can utilize. for instance on an all hands you get 4 engines, ask for extra engine you have 5, add the satellite you now have 6 engines on the first alarm. helps them have resources without banging out a second alarm
But the satellite has no pump or tank . . . how can you call it an engine?????

Having been a chief on SI for a few years, when we needed the satellite, we needed it on the 10-75. Like SI 1075 said, volume is the issue. Quite a few multiples, we had good pressure, but hydrants on one way mains and we were out pumping the supply. Satellite has maps of mains and were able to overcome the problem. If we had to special call and wait for them, it would have been too late
Thank you. THAT'S an answer.

Divisions have to submit a list of boxes that they want the satellites to respond to every January to operations.
