Fire burns deck and back of home in Travis

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A fire damaged the deck and back of a home in Travis on Thursday morning.
The fire was reported at 8:05 a.m. at 13 Watson Ave. near Shelley Avenue, according to a spokesman for the FDNY/EMS.
Units on scene determined that the fire was located on a deck in the rear of that home, the spokesman said.
At least 60 firefighters and 12 units responded to the “all-hands” blaze.
The fire was placed under control in less than an hour, at 8:53 a.m., with no injuries reported, the FDNY spokesman said.
