If the Gowanus bridge is down, 279 & 131 would beat 220 & 122 most of the time.

I understand that. But again as we see in other broughs too distance means nothing.

On the card/Cad 220/122 are 1st due

239 is also .8 miles. So all 3 of the first alarm engines probably arrive within seconds of each other.

Den is correct, when I was in 131 anything below 4th Ave up to 29th Street we would beat 122 into the box. Always depending on traffic!

Personally, I think it should go by distance & the number or turns there has to make to get to the box. The more intersection turns, slows the response time,, I would imagine.

totally agree..a good example..E217 3rd due engine at dekalb ave and nostrand ave 5 blocks away down a one way street in that direction
