FDNY Manhattan 3rd Alarm Box 0775 Fire was in a Roof Tank in a Setback of a Building

“{ FDNY BOX 0775 ~ MANHATTAN }”…..”{ FDNY BATTLING A 3RD ALARM FIRE IN A WATER TOWER, WITH SLIGHT EXTENSION INTO A COMMERCIAL BUILDING, ON EAST 41ST STREET IN THE MIDTOWN AREA OF MANHATTAN IN NEW YORK CITY }”…..
Watching the videos is fascinating. I really don’t care about seeing the flames as much I like watching operations at the command post, water supply, rehab, etc. No matter which borough it’s in, the set up is always the same and consistent. I see many of the same faces. I wish I had these videos to study back in the day to help me understand how to “go about my business”. Their fires are our training!

Wait, is that a . . . leather helmet? I understood they were verboten.

Noticed red colored hose attached to white hose at 22:23 to 22:50 Don't remember seeing that before. Any reason?

Maybe 2 different brands. Or are they color coded by grades or something? l'm just guessing, but l've seen white, yellow, orange, red, blue, green l just thought they were different brands or something.

its the high pressure hose as most units that have it aren't using the 3 and a half inch hose other then in high-rises so they keep it on the 3 and a half bed

What size is that line there stretching? Looks like a five reduced to three
