Trivia Question: Back in 1960-62 NYPD patrol cars were Black, Green & White. What colors were the two Plymouth Furys in "Car 54" Tv series?

RED and White . . . it showed up better on black & white TV.  ;)

OOO! OOO! You got it guys.  And fdce54: NOBODY is older than I am . . . unless it's Willy D. I actually drove a '57 Plymouth when it was NEW!!!  ;)

BTW:  While we're at it: fdce54, WHERE ARE YOU??

"fdce54" wishes he was 54. I think his real name is "fdce60". And Ray, if you drove a "57 Plymouth when it was new, not even Johnny D, MikeindaBx, or G-man can come close to you.

And thanks "fdny1075k" for posting that video. That theme song brought tears to my eyes when I heard it. A Great fun show about two NYC cops who just couldn't seem to get things right.

No problem, Willy "D".

Interesting how a red painted squad car would show up better on a B&W TV than the actual colors used at the time by NYPD. I believe many shows did similar things with colors to make them look better in black and white. I know that in the early 1950's, during the black and white episodes of the original Adventures of Superman, starring George Reeves(the one and only Superman in my book), Superman's costume was black, grey, and white. When the series switched to color in the mid-50's, Superman's costume was changed to the appropriate colos, although the blue tones were very dark. Towards the end of the series, the blue became a very light shade, what it is today, and what it is in the DC comic books.

I DID drive that '57 Plymouth . . . but I had just gotten my Learner's Permit, and was 15 at the time.  ;)
