It is uncanny how often over the last couple of years that E70 or L53 are not in quarters for some type of fire or emergency, due to one of the four conditions that Signal73 listed. But when you think of it, probably on any given day from 9 am to 9 pm there are probably a dozen companies around the city at any given time that are not in quarters due to one of the four. From listening to the radio, it sounds as if when a company is assigned to an activity that they continue with that activity unless a M A J O R incident is occurring that may affect citywide availability. It comes back to logistics, logistics, logistics!
