A little trivia!

As a general rule, pier numbers in Manhattan can be determined by adding 40 to the corresponding cross-street.  Learned this in my youth from a longshoreman who lived next door to me and use to work at Pier 74 and 34th St - a United States line cargo pier -  I don't believe Pier 74 exists anymore
