"Vessel Capsizes in Chesapeake Bay; All Occupants Brought to Safety
Chesapeake Bay, Va. — Emergency personnel responded to a reported vessel in distress yesterday morning after a boat capsized in the Chesapeake Bay.
According to the Virginia Beach EMS Marine Rescue Team, a distress call was received by the U.S. Coast Guard at approximately 9:20 a.m. reporting the capsized vessel. Rescue crews were dispatched to the scene, where they assisted Hampton Fire and U.S. Coast Guard Sector Virginia in safely rescuing all occupants from the water.
Officials say crews also worked to ensure the vessel would not pose a hazard to other boaters navigating the bay.
No injuries were reported.
