From the FDNY Facebook page:
"On Thursday, around 8:30 AM Firefighter Jose Cristales, Ladder 104 was alerted by screaming and panicked bystanders to an accident near his home. A person had been struck by a car and was trapped underneath it. Off-duty at the time, Firefighter Cristales did not have tools or equipment and knew time was critical to remove the patient from the under the vehicle.
Thinking quickly, Firefighter Cristales and a construction crew working across the street worked together to remove the victim. The crew used an excavator to lift the car off the patient while Firefighter Cristales pulled them out. He immediately began CPR until members of Engine 246 arrived and took over.
Station 43 EMTs Nicole Arocho and Daniel Qatar arrived to continue patient care and transported the victim, in critical condition, to the hospital."
