When SQ*41 was organized on 7-1-90 this was one of our boxes .... today even w/SQ*61 in service i would think  this  would be a 41 box ?.........odd that on the old card posted that 46 is 1st & 88 2nd but 38 is 1st & 27 2nd even though they were & still are quartered together.

Yes Chief, those "War Years" cards had some strange assignments ::)
 
Maybe one of the dispatchers could assist here are the squads assigned by battalions to 10-75's or by first due Engine company? if i remember they were by battalion but i dont have access to the reference manual for a few days. I was working and cant remember which squad was sent today.
 
As far as SQ*41 from 7-1-90 there were 9 BNs assigned on the 10-75 in the BX & Harlem.....SQ*1 at that time also was assigned by BNs.....after the other SQs were formed in '98 the assignments were by 1st due ENG as they remain today......the Sqs in the '60s/70s were assigned by box numbers originally then by the Disp  depending on whose qtrss they were operating from & the time of day.

      46 and 27 were 1st due.  I was working a mutual in 27 and had the can.  We had fire venting out the 1st floor #4 side when we pulled up.  Run came in at 5:42 am and there was a bit of a delayed notification as one of the tenants told us that he tried putting it out before calling 911.  Bldg was a 2 story frame that had some questionable SRO apartments on the 1st floor.  Nice job done by all companies!

Did you see which Swuad it was for sure ? 41 or 61 ?

Didn't notice, and didn't really see any Squad when we came out.
