( FDNY BOX 400 - MANHATTAN ) - FDNY AND NYPD OPERATING AT A INCIDENT WHERE ALLEGEDLY A MAN WAS STABBED AND THEN THROWN INTO THE EAST RIVER IN THE ALPHABET CITY AREA OF MANHATTAN IN NEW YORK CITY.
I was wondering why the high rise pack and Scott pack for on a water rescue?

Was wondering the same thing, what is the standpipe hose used for in this case? Sure there is a reason.I was wondering why the high rise pack and Scott pack for on a water rescue?
In Boston we have fire hose that can be inflated with air and used for flotation, I’m not certain about FDNY but the mask can be used to fill the hose line with air from the cylinder. Was wondering the same thing, what is the standpipe hose used for in this case? Sure there is a reason.
Aha; Thanks.FDNY engines, ladders, and battalions carry a water safety kit which includes two 2½-inch hose caps, one with an air valve for hose line inflation from an apparatus air outlet, SCBA, or FAST-Pak.
