One of the two incidents that marked my early education in the fire service. The Waverly TN Train derailment and subsequent explosion February 24, 1978 taught us about BLEVE and propane. The Waldbaums fire taught us about truss construction. After these incidents we the entire preplanning program was about roof construction and propane!
