I always see the SOC guys with there hoods always on without face piece any reason?

Most guys who do it mask up over the hood. Saves time fishing for ur hood and donning it over the mask. Despite what the books say, you can still manage to get a good seal even with the mask over the hood.

Others wear “alternative breathing devices”.. wearing the hood up allows members to still protect the other exposed parts of their head while still being able to rapidly don and doff the facepiece without removing their helmet, but said devices are not as common these days as years past.
