Your rundown shows Divisions 5,6,and 7 responding and no mention of any Brooklyn Divisions: 11, 1t, possibly 12. I believe the oriiginal box number would be in the 400 range (462) or in the 8000 range as a special building box. L 105 is mentioned twice at different times. Also interesting how many companies that responded have since been disbanded.

From 1995 to 1997, all Divisions were numbered consecutively. Division 1 - 8.

Box 77 - 55 - 461 51 Clark St.
Box 77 - 22 - 462 80 Pineapple St.
Box 77 - 33 - 478 111 Hicks St.

E204, E209, E212, E278 are disbanded

Based on the year of occurrence of the incident, FDNY had renumbers all the Divisions. Afterwards returned to the current numbering system.

I believe that the total response to this fire, was equal to 13 Alarms. In the FDNY such a large number of alarms was once called a "Borough Call" or "Simultaneous" Call. In theory, in the past, the maximum response in any one N.Y, Borough was 5 Alarms. If more alarms were needed for a very large fire, an alarm box number in another NYC Borough would be used and the units assigned to that box would respond to the large fire in that other borough. On the old Alarm bell system, a Borough designation was used, for Brooklyn the Borough designation was 7-7. So, a 5th Alarm in Brooklyn for box 598 would be sent via the old bell system as 7-7 5-5 598. For an 8th Alarm for Brooklyn Box 598 the signal in the old bell system would be 6-6 (Borough designation for Manhattan) 6-6 3-3 142 (A Manhattan Alarm Box Number) = 6-6 3-3 142 7-7 077. A 3rd Alarm assignment for Manhattan box 142 would respond to Brooklyn Box 077 to equal an 8th Alarm at the Brooklyn Major Fire. Now with computer assistance for the dispatchers the computer recommends the units available to respond to any level of alarms needed, to the dispatchers. My former unit Engine 26 responded to this fire, but I was off duty that night. Engine 26 S/C = Special Called at 0601 Hours.

If you call 4 Bourghs on this call a "Borugh Call" it definitley was one, according to FDnewyork theres was 101+ appratus working this. Staten Island was the only company who didn't help out Brooklyn (which makes sense but is a regular thing for them)

Recently SI units relocated to BK and routinely SI units end up at multiple alarms in Manhattan for watchline and relief, especially TL85 as a 95’.

I'm not an FDNY member but as someone who worked there after the fire I don't think I've seen worse destruction in a one block area anywhere else.

I've think I've seen worse, 233 County Rd 508 (East Orange NJ). If you check Google Maps it'll be fine. But when I passed it a few weeks back, the only thing that was still in good condition was the BP Gas Station on the corner of Western Parkway. Every building on the CR508 side of the Block burned completly to the ground. If anyone know if there's a thread on that Job I seriously want to know.

I'm also counting apartments on Hicks and Pineapple streets that were destroyed also.

Staten Island was represented. R5, E163 and 167 were all at Hicks.
