Yes it is. From what I had heard through the channels years ago when 75/33/19's new quarters were built the old place on Jerome Avenue was to be condemned because of it's condition. Oh wait...let EMS use it. They won't know the difference. And so it stands, with some renovation, Station 19.

I worked there a few times on details and the house wasn't bad. I know they replaced the apparatus floor about the 90's. The only real problem was when ya laid down for a few winks at night your head was like 2 feet from the El train.

What units' quarters are by an El?
Off the top of my head:
E-62 and L-32
E-253
E-283 and D-15
E-294 and L-143

Not too far away:
E-216, L-108, and B-35
E-245, L-161, and B-43
E-290 and L-103

Feel free to add any others.

Thanks Ed, I stand corrected.

There was no EL structure when E75 was originally organized as a 3 piece combination company in 1901. (L33 came six years later.) The EL was part of the old Interboro Rapid Transit Company, commonly known as the IRT, and was built between 1915-20. Jerome Avenue was originally known as Central Avenue and ran from the marshlands where Yankee stadium is now all the way up through Westchester County (yes, the same Central Ave as today). It was renamed for financier Leonard Jerome at the influence of his daughter, Jenny, Winston Churchill’s mother.

216...108...35s present Qtrs at 187 Union Ave 187 union ave brooklyn ny are alongside the El on Broadway ....the El (& Broadway) are on an angle to the FH but the left rear side of the FH is right alongside the El....when a Detail was working there & in a conversation & the Train went by on the El he would continue talking whereas the regular guys would just automatically pause their conversation until the Train passed & resume not missing a word......also the G Line Subway ran in front of & almost under the FH but was not a problem noise wise.

63-39 B15 Bx A block away 233rd street station.

I grew up in a building one block removed from the 3d Ave El. Would lie in bed as a kid and listen to the rhythm of the 18 minute intervals between trains coming and going to put me to sleep...but no comparison between my one block away and my friends’ who lived right there on Webster Ave...
