2230 - Marine Batt - Put a second boat on if you don't already have one

2230 - Man Disp to Marine Batt - Marine 6 and Marine 1 are on the box, reported to be in front of the Statue of Liberty

2235 - Man Disp to Marine Batt - Coast Guard are confirming still have a woman and child missing in the water

2236 - Marine 9 - Put us on that box

2238 - Marine 8 - We're in the area put us on the box

2244 - Marine Batt - From Box 8420 we have one overturned boat, initial report said there was 13 people on the boat, we're searching right now for two that are still missing, searches in progress

2246 - Brooklyn Dispatch to Engine 241 - We have companies operating at Liberty Island that are going to be transporting patients to Harbour Charlie for EMS

2249 - Marine Batt - NYPD have recovered one of the missing victims, headed to Harbour Charlie if you can have EMS respond there

2250 - EMS HazTac 1 to Man Disp - We have rescue medics headed to South Street Ferry Terminal

2251 - Marine Batt - Second victim has been removed from the water

2306 - Marine Batt - Total of 13 victims in the water, all have been removed, 2 are being transported to hospital

Terrible all around, and I feel for the families who have just lost not one but two souls from their lives. BZ to the NYPD and FDNY crews and to the nearby ferry who stopped this from being a real disaster.

When I worked on City Island and up in Boston as a USCG licensed mariner there were quite a few of these "charter captains" who would overload their boats and take them out. Usually all liquored up the lot of em, Capt included, and pull a handsome wad of cash out of it. Fast and easy money for sure, right up until it all goes wrong.
