Atlantic & Pennsylvania is a busy intersection in both directions on E & W Atlantic & N & S on Pennsylvania getting fed from Bushwick Ave as well as the Inter Boro / Jackie Robinson Pkwy ......Back in the early '60s there was an NYPD fixed post during the day tours....the main Officer for that post for years was a Police Officer named Al Plummer he stood right in the middle of the busy intersection controlling traffic wearing a pair of orange gloves waving his hands & spinning left & right ....he would direct turning cars practically right up to his foot holding them until the road was clear....he spent the whole tour actively doing this ( good cardio before cardio was known)......Al was also a Fire Buff & often when off duty would ride with LAD*107 which back then was on New Jersey Ave right on the next block....I think he belonged to the Fire Bell club also..... https://www.google.com/maps/place/Atlantic+Ave+&+Pennsylvania+Ave,+Brooklyn,+NY+11207/@40.6757859,-73.9144302,13z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x89c25c4e5bb59fdf:0xcd1bcf16d7c9f9ed!8m2!3d40.6758042!4d-73.8968742

You are correct, Al was a member of the Fire Bell Club. He also rode with E317.
