Listening to the audio again the dispatcher actually said off duty retired chief on scene.

Even in retirement still catching work…

He Was, In Fact, Requested to Respond. I heard it, & found it odd at the time.

Just because something is said on the radio doesn’t mean it’s true…. He was requested to be added to the box he was on scene already…..

After watching those videos I now fully understand why it takes an hour plus to rig the Super Pumper for operation from the draw sites. Not exactly a "show up and go" rig, but then again I guess that was never the planned use.

They are on trailers at SOC. HS1,2,3… sometimes one of them is on the hook lift truck. But they can be towed by the SW pick ups, Vans or Hook Lift….
