A Boston KME (with artistic identity added)

According to FAJ Boston purchases 3 2011 KME Severe Service Pumpers, assigned to E 17,22, and 33. These rigs do not have the Predator raised cab, new rigs are 1250/750. They replace 3 older E-One rigs. I beleive E-17 responds to this area, either as a first alarm, defenitaly a deuce co.

As to date Boston has 9 KME engines. 3 2011 Raised roof engines originally assigned to 7,33, and 37, im not sure why but 7s was reassigned to 42 and 7s original 1999 E-1 was refurbeded and giving back to them, and 33 literally fit in the bay by fractions of an inch so it was reassigned to engine 14, pictured here. Later in the year KME delivered another 3 engines, these with flat roofs, assigned to 17, 22, and 33 where these rigs are still assigned. And last not yet inservice yet, im not sure if the department has taken deliverly yet but engines 7, 52, and 53 will recieve 2012 KME flat roof engines. All 9 engines are 1250/750.

Appologies for the link, i thought the link was for the individual picture, but its for the whole set!!!

The KME is fifth row down, on the rit, Engine 14.

Engine 7 had a new engine, bashed it, BFD wernt happy, so took the new rig away and gave them the old one back after refurbing it.

A source has said they are stuck with this older rig for the foreseable future?

Hmm didnt hear that, but that would explain it, the rig was all personalized too. Im almost 100% sure they just got another KME though. Back in 09 an officer at 52 pulled some strings and was going to have a new e-1 assigned to them, but a large group of the crew skipped training on the piece and BFD said no way and 29 got their rig, it even came numbered as 52 but was redone.

A source has said they are stuck with this older rig for the foreseable future?

Sounds like whoever wrote the specs was asleep at the wheel. :-[ :'( :-[
Typical of an administrator, they knew what they wanted, not what they needed!
