Age of Fire Call Box

[Roosevelt Island 360]

Does any one know how old a fire box like this is?  This one site on Roosevelt Island South of Goldwater Hospital facing North.

The ERS box itself dates from early to mid 1970's.  Looks like a 2nd generation ERS, replacing an earlier version that had pull-down handles instead of the present (2) covered push-buttons.  (The skells kept tearing the handles off the boxes). The post itself (I think) dates to the 1930's.

Thanks.  I was more interested right now in the post itself as this is the only one of this age and style left on the island.
