MUTUAL AID IS UNDERWAY IN THE HUDSON RIVER.  FDNY HAS MARINE 1ALPHA & MARINE BATT. ASSISTING ALPINE, NJ FIREFIGHTERS.

There is a brush fire on the cliffs of the Palisade's that can not be put out. FDNY Marine 1A will attempt to reach the fire with their bow nozzle once the NJ firefighters are off the cliff area.  The burning area is opposite the city of Yonkers.

That fire is still burning freely and there are no marine units from any dept. on scene.  You'd think the "343" could reach the whole fire area.  There aren't any roads nearby.

Fire was just opposite Greystone Train Station in Yonkers. CMD pulled the plug just before midnight Saturday after a couple guys got hurt. One member was transported by Westchester County Police boat to Tarrytown for EMS transport to the Medical Center with a leg injury. Bergen called Yonkers at about 0100hrs and asked if someone could look across the river and let them know if it was still burning. It was. Was still burning in pockets as of this afternoon.

Some perspective- there's a boat at the bottom left of this image:

This was about 2330hrs on Saturday:
