Amphibious Rescue Vehicle

Nice looking piece of equipment however the write ups says it can do 63 mph! I certainly wouldn't feel very comfortable going that fast in that boat!

"Bulldog", I'm just guessing, but I "think" being able to go 63 mph would ONLY be used when members need to reach a victim, or victims, are in "desperate need of rescue". In other words, "they could die if not rescued in minutes".

As we ALL know, the job of a firefighter, is NOT ALWAYS SAFE.
Going into burning buildings is NOT SAFE.
Even going on some medical responses is NOT SAFE
Neither is going out in dangerous water conditions to rescue civilians SAFE.

But that's the job and what they are trained for.
That's just what people expect them to do.

Who remembers these? Milwaukee FD in the early 1980's. Built from the bottom up, not a DUKW conversion. It was stored at a land station and drove to the lake.

Grump, purpose built or not, if it walks like a DUKW and quacks like a DUKW, it's probably not a fishing trawler. ;):p

True, but we also all know that it's better to take a little longer getting there then not getting there at all!
