OBITUARY....Boyle, John "Jack" - Died on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the age of 77. He was the beloved husband of Dawn E. Boyle, loving father of Patrick Boyle and Caitlin Boyle, cherished brother of Charles Boyle, Ruth Burke and Mary Alice McCrann, dear doggy dad to Rusty, and also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Boyle was a United States Army Veteran who served in the 82nd Airborne Paratroopers Division, NYC Transit Police Officer, FDNY Firefighter for over 30 years, member of Rescue Company 1 in Midtown Manhattan and 9-11 First Responder. He was also the recipient of the FDNY Holy Name Society "Man of the Year" Award in 2002 and Holy Name Society Medal in 1979 for rescuing children from a fire. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Wounded Warrior Project. Mass of Christian Burial offered at Our Lady of Hope Church on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 10:45 AM. Interment followed at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, NY under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home.
